Plaques and Awards, What’s Your Style?

If you own a business or maybe you are a manager at a company, you by now, understand the importance of giving plaques and awards to your top notch employees and helpers. It seems that these awards always give the extra “oomph” and quite possibly the pat on the back that every great employee needs to let them know they are doing a oh so fabulous job! There is nothing better than being able to hang award plaques in your house to remind yourself of the great work you are doing. Amiright?

The sad thing about this is some businesses just do not give to much thought into great employee recognition. Every top notch employee needs a little something to say “hey thanks, we appreciate you”. Although, handing out gold stars is a great idea and would most definitely be perfect for any kindergartner who just completed a colorful painting of the ABC’s… I’m not sure the gold stars could work in this case. When it comes to those who are really there and help you out on a daily basis, what better way to say “thank you” than with something that they can look at on a daily basis.

Good help is hard to find, so when you find it, take the time to really thank them. Whether it be with plaques or not.

The Best Pizza Dough Recipe (without using a bread maker)

I have been on a pizza kick lately and without having a bread maker, I thought there was no way pizza dough could be made successfully. Was I wrong! Below is the best recipe for making pizza dough without using a bread maker. It’s delicious.

Ingredients:
1 3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup of warm water (about 30 seconds in microwave)
1 tbsp of yeast
1 tbsp of honey
1/8 cup of olive oil (2 tbsp’s, basically)
Pinch of salt (less than a teaspoon)

Pour the flour in a large bowl, add the honey, olive oil and salt to the flour and mix them. Add the hot water, then the yeast. Mix all together until it forms a dough. From there, stick your hands in the mixture and mix it all together, forming a dough ball.

If the dough is too dry, add a tsp of water, if it’s too sticky, add a little flour.

Roll the dough out on a flat, floured surface. Knead the dough for about a minute and then ball it up. Put the dough in a bowl and cover with a towel or saran wrap for about 45 minutes.

Once dough is ready, Put the dough on a pizza pan (or square cookie sheet, however you prefer) and stretch the dough slowly to cover the pan. This usually involves using your fingers and palms to stretch the dough until it’s the size you want.

Put crust in the oven for 4 minutes at 450 degrees. Once crust has baked a little bit, add your toppings, your sauce, whatever you want and then bake the pizza for about 8-10 minutes longer.

Enjoy.

note: this dough recipe makes 1 medium pizza crust
