I am exhausted. These next two weeks are going to be VERY busy. I am not even sure how much blogging I will get to do. I am sadly also neglecting All Things Cupcake. My top priorities at the moment are my family, my business and moooooooooving. We’ve got some things over to the new house, taking a few carloads at a time. Tonight I was over there til almost midnight putting up curtains, putting boxes in rooms, cleaning things, dusting things, etc. I came home feeling tired and still have some design work to do before bed. It is probably going to be like this for a few weeks so don’t mind me if I’m quiet. <3

I actually have the OLD original books and loved them as a kid, my kids loved the movie and I am sure this would be a HIT for Christmas. Being unemployed, in school AND pregnant - this would sure help out with the Christmas shopping!

Welcome to our new home. We begin moving things in the 20th. We are beyond thrilled and are excited to finally have the house of our dreams.

Here are some awesome key points about this house:

1) It’s on the island. Might be hectic to get off it during spring break but that’s okay.. we have everything we need on the island, including the amazing beach access down the street.

2) The master bedroom not only has a bathroom but it has double sinks. Do you know what this means? Hubs gets his own sink and better never use mine ;)

3) Now we can use the restroom or take a shower at night and not wake up little one (she’s a very light sleeper).

4) Tile floors.

5) Fenced in backyard & screened in lanai. Little one can’t escape and now maybe she can get that swing set!

6) There are two dining rooms (one right off the kitchen), another open room adjascent to the kitchen area, and a living room. The only problem now is, how do I arrange my furniture :( I have no clue how to set up these rooms. HELP!

7) The house is in a culdasac and we are at the very end loop. Very quite, little traffic.

8) Double doors in our master bedroom that leads out to the patio. This is nice.

Now for the pictures….

Welcome to our little beach house:

What you see when you first walk in (WHAT DO I DO WITH THIS ROOM? Is this where the TV goes? HMMMM. You can also see to the right, the other random room that is adjacent to the kitchen. To the left are the 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 hall closets):

Doors to outside & part of the kitchen dining area (on the right):

Another dining area (what you see when you walk in the door and look to the right. Those windows to the right are the windows you see in the first picture on the outside of the house):

The second bathroom tub (love the tile):

We will have more pictures soon! I am currently trying to figure out how I am going to design each room. I really need help figuring out how to set up the furniture, what room the tv will go in, etc. I mean.. do I want the tv where the built in shelves are? If so, how can I lay out the room so you don’t walk in and walk directly into the couch? Can anyone offer a sketch or some advice???

I have been planning out how I want to decorate my new house.

I am trying to go from room to room in my mind to plan out what I want. For the bedroom, I ended up buying some adorable things on Urban Outfitters.

Bedding/Curtains/Shams are all in this fabric:

Our room is going to be an orange/gray/off white theme.

I also just HAD to purchase this:

Eee. and to make it even BETTER.. I found a coupon online.. 25% OFF everything in your cart. Seriously made my day. I got great deals on my purchases.

I admit, I already bought my Christmas cards and am starting to prepare a list of who to send them to. I really debated whether or not I wanted to send a photo card, a “newsletter” or really.. just a simple card itself. It is really hard to decide.. I found the website vista print and then stumbled upon one of their options which is a Photo Calendar. Dude, what an awesome idea. What better way to tell someone Merry Christmas then by giving them a calendar with your face on it and saying “use this for a year!”. That’s awesome if you ask me.

Growing up, I always remember my parents sending out a family newsletter. You know.. the ones where they talk about what you did in that year, how you’ve grown.. they never talked about how many times you were grounded or how bad you were at math. They just talked about the piano song you learned to play, church, things like that. I can imagine what my husband and I’s newsletter would say. “Web business is amazing. Hubs is a wonderful tattoo artist. We are living the life by the beach, going to the park everyday, and having more fun than you can imagine. Wish you were here”. I mean, seriously, what exactly are you supposed to say. Am I the only one who thinks it’s totally weird to write a huge letter about yourself?

Another reason why Photo Calendars rock.

Warm up the hot cocoa, get all bundled up and prepare for a snow-day unlike any other when ARCTIC EXPOSURE WITH NIGEL MARVEN debuts on DVD November 25 from Genius Products and Animal Planet. Join the courageous and notable zoologist Nigel Marven, as he spends nine enthralling months exploring the wildlife and surrounding area of the Canadian Arctic on an expedition that takes him from the icy wasteland of the far north, across near-endless tundra to the vast boreal forest in the south. Originally airing on Animal Planet in 2007, the five-part series invites viewers to embark on the adventure as Nigel follows the fortunes of the indigenous animals – including polar bear cubs, walruses and an Arctic wolf - that call the extreme conditions of this unique territory home. A great way for children and parents alike to warm up this holiday season, the ARCTIC EXPOSURE WITH NIGEL MARVEN five-part series will also include a “Behind-the-Scenes” featurette, and be available for the suggested retail price of $39.92.

To enter this giveaway, leave a comment and let us know why you would love this DVD. 5 Winners will be picked on November 25th.

It’s been quite a busy week so far. I was away from the computer from Friday - Sunday and in that time, I got so much done. We are in the process of looking for a house even though our lease isn’t up here until the first of the year. We are planning to move closer to the water.. as close as physically possible without being on the sand :) We have a few real keepers and are going to do the final walk through, decision making, etc on those this week. That hasn’t stopped me from already buying things for the house, especially the kitchen. I want to go for a vintage yet contemporary style in the kitchen. I am REALLY loving Milk Glass Hobnail. Love it. My grandma had it growing up and I just love it. Not sure what that is?

Here is a perfect example of Milk Glass Hobnail:

Of course they made hobnail with clear glass too. For example:

I love the yellow as well but there is just something about the milk glass that really catches my eye. I am looking for a few pieces for my kitchen and ebay has been wonderful for that. Not only did I buy some hobnail pieces, I also bought quite a few owl related things for the house.

Here are a few items I bought off etsy, for the house:

Vintage Ceramic Owl Lantern

Yellow Haeger Planter

Golden Scalloped Casserole Dish

Vintage stoneware pot with yellow enamel lid.
Can you tell I love yellow?

Pair of vintage Hallmark owls
(great for candy or holding tea bags)

You can kinda see the theme I am going for, especially in the kitchen. I love the solid white along with the yellow. So awesome.
